Laurens County 4-H Camps
What is a 4-H Camp?
4-H offers to types of camp 4-H day camps and 4-H overnight camp. Day camps are camps that are only held day time hours (these camp hours may differ). Overnight camps are camps that youth spend the night at the camp. 4-H day camps and overnight camps provide fun, hands-on, experience-based learning. Certain camps, non-4-H members can attend 4-H camp. Each camp is unique.
Camps offered by Laurens County 4-H:
Laurens County Spring Break Camp
April 3-7, 2017
Ages 5-14 years old
Laurens County Extension Office (219 W Laurens Street, Laurens, SC 29360)
$50 per Child (Youth need to bring a packed lunch)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS MARCH 24, 2017
Youth are invited to enjoy all the aspects of what 4-H has to offer including sewing, animal husbandry, art, health, science, and more. Youth don't have to be a member of 4-H to attend this camp, so don't waste your week when your can have fun and make new friends! Join us for Spring Break Fun Camp! Laurens-Greenwood 4-H2O Camp
June 6-9, 2017
9:00 am - 3:00 pm daily
Lake Greenwood State Park, Shelter 1
Cost $75 for 4-H members or $85 for non-4-H members
Join the fun! This 4-H program is sponsored by Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service and has tons of hands-on aquatic activities. Learn about things like:
- Why would anyone build a lake?
- What’s the big deal about algae and pollution?
- What is plankton and why is it in the lake?
Do fun stuff like: go out on the pontoon, take a canoe trip, collect fish with a seining net and go swimming every day!
Lunch, snacks and 4-H insurance during the program will be provided.

A South Carolina tradition for over 50 years, 4-H Club Summer Camp offers traditional camp activities
with plenty of fun, friends and adventure! Activities include the following:
- Swimming and canoeing
- High adventure elements and climbing tower
- Nature hikes and team sports
- Archery and riflery
- Nightly skits and games
- Dance and talent show
- 4-H activities

SC 4-H Horsemanship Camp
July 5-9, 2017
T. Ed Garrions Arena, Pendleton, SC
Must bring your own horse.
The purpose of this camp is to provide the youth member an opportunity to learn new and better techniques of horsemanship and to enjoy the fellowship of other 4-Hers and volunteers from different areas of the state. The camp is designed to increase the horse knowledge, horsemanship skills and showing techniques of the advanced rider as well as to introduce beginner riders to the basics of horsemanship. Youth will receive two group riding lessons per day, two horse workshops per day, and one fun evening activities per day.
