Laurens County 4-H Camps

4-H offers to types of camp 4-H day camps and 4-H overnight camp. Day camps are camps that are only held day time hours (these camp hours may differ). Overnight camps are camps that youth spend the night at the camp. 4-H day camps and overnight camps provide fun, hands-on, experience-based learning. Certain camps, non-4-H members can attend 4-H camp. Each camp is unique.

4-H Healthy Movers 

Get cooking and get moving with 4-H Healthy Movers this summer!! Each week via email you will receive a short healthy lifestyles lesson, a recipe that teaches new cooking skills, and a physical activity challenge.  The activities will go for eight weeks.  There is an option to purchase an activity tracker (similar to a Fitbit) or you can register for free.  You don’t need an activity tracker to complete the program.  You will be asked to complete an anonymous survey at the end of the program.  This program is made possible through the Walmart Foundation Grant.  

Session 1: Registration is due May 20th to receive an activity tracker.  Registration is due June 4th for without an activity tracker.  Activities begin on June 8th.  

Session 2: Registration is due June 16th.  Activities begin on June 29th.

Journey to Mars: A 4-H Space Adventure  

Join the mission! Journey to Mars: A 4-H Space Adventure is an at-home STEM kit you can use to explore what it will take to get humans on Mars. Your exploration can begin by signing up for your camp kit and starting your Journey to Mars!

You do not have to be a current 4-Her to participate! The camp is geared towards youth between the ages of 9-13 but is open to all youth.

Kits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and a limited number are available. Kits will be available by early July. You will be notified when you can pick your camp kit up from the Laurens County Clemson Extension Office.  If tickets are sold out, please email asmccar@clemson.edu to be added to the waitlist.

4-H20 @ Home 

Bring 4-H20 into your home this summer with our Grab-and-Go Kit and spend time outdoors! 4-H20 is a hands-on science inquiry program that provides youth with knowledge and about their local water resources.  Kits will include activities related to the water cycle, watersheds, and water conservation. The camp is geared toward youth ages 9-14 but is open to all youth. You do not have to be a current 4-Her to participate!

Registration will close July 16th and kits will be picked up at the Laurens County Extension Office (219 W Laurens St, Laurens, SC 29360) on July 23rd. If kits are sold out, contact asmccar@clemson.edu to be added to the waitlist or with any questions!

A South Carolina tradition for over 50 years, 4-H Club Summer Camp offers traditional camp activities
with plenty of fun, friends and adventure! Activities include the following:

    • Archery and riflery
    • Nightly skits and games
    • Dance and talent show
    • 4-H activities

SC 4-H Horsemanship Camp - canceled for 2020

July 14-18, 2020

T. Ed Garrison Arena, Pendleton, SC

Cost: $450

Must bring your own horse.

The purpose of this camp is to provide the youth member an opportunity to learn new and better techniques of horsemanship and to enjoy the fellowship of other 4-Hers and volunteers from different areas of the state. The camp is designed to increase the horse knowledge, horsemanship skills and showing techniques of the advanced rider as well as to introduce beginner riders to the basics of horsemanship. Youth will receive two group riding lessons per day, two horse workshops per day, and one fun evening activities per day.
