Lexington County 4-H
Turning ideas into action, 4-H youth are becoming everyday heroes who persevere through challenges to leave lasting, positive impacts on their communities. Through the work of caring mentors, 4-H - a positive youth development organization - is cultivating a growing number of America's youth to lead us in a Revolution of Responsibility. Their commitment challenges us all to join the movement toward meaningful change. Lexington County 4-H offers programs, clubs and projects in animal agriculture and veterinary science, natural resources and the environment, gardening, leadership and citizenship, personal growth and development, and science, engineering and technology.
South Carolina 4-H has received many calls and emails regarding summer programs, such as camps and state events. We are happy to hear that so many of you are planning to attend our programs and/or events this coming summer. However, in light of a recent directive of Clemson University, all in-person, statewide 4-H programs must be cancelled through August 8th. While we understand the disappointment you feel related to this decision, please know that the safety and health of our 4-H members, families, volunteers, and employees are always our highest priority. We will continue to determine ways we can provide valuable opportunities for engagement through virtual experiences; so, stay tuned! Although statewide experiences are cancelled, we plan to provide local 4-H programming as possible in alignment with the state’s reopening process.
