South Carolina Master Gardeners are required to obtain ten (10) hours of continuing education annually.

Master Gardener Mondays - Virtual Learning Opportunities

Master Gardener Mondays are offered the first Monday of each month at 2:00 PM via Zoom. Each live session is approximately 1 hour in length and includes time for Q&A. The title of each presentation will become a live link when registration is available.

Advanced Training

Would you like to delve deeper into a particular subject area? Advanced Trainings are being developed to help you become content experts. These trainings will require some demonstration of learning such as a final exam or learning notebook. An authorization code or promotional code may be needed to register or to receive a discounted price.  These will be shared through the Master Gardener E-News.

Participants will navigate their way through 16 modules to learn to identify over 100 commonly cultivated plant species. Learning can be assessed through self-check plant identification quizzes. The course is self-paced but must be completed within 60 days. The cost is $40 and Master Gardeners receive a $15 discount with a promotional code. More information can be found in the Clemson Online course catalog.

Volunteer Awards

Volunteer awards have been established to recognize Master Gardeners at the state level. Master Gardener Volunteers will be evaluated on efforts made between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022. Master Gardeners with a status of intern, certified, or active are eligible to apply.

Judges for the awards will be appointed by the State Coordinator. Decisions by the judges will be final. Each winner will receive a $100 gift card to Lowe's. Awards will be presented at the Statewide Conference and winners must be present to receive to the prize. 

All applications must be emailed to sc.extension.mg@gmail.com by 11:59 PM on September 15, 2022. Be sure to attach the PDF entry form and any supporting documentation.
