Profile/About Me

Modi Wetzler completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Buffalo with a double major in Chemistry and English, and then completed a Ph.D. under the aegis of David Wemmer in the Chemistry Department at the University of California at Berkeley. He then was a postdoctoral researcher with Annelise Barron in the Bioengineering Department at Stanford University. He is current a senior lecturer with graduate faculty status in the Chemistry Department at Clemson University.

Research Interests

Dr. Wetzler's research interests are focused on unconventional applications of organic chemistry, primarily for f-element ligand design, potential therapeutics for intellectual disabilities, and peptides for nerve growth regeneration. His research has been funded by the NIH, DOE (NEUP), NSF (EPSCoR), and the Self Family Foundation.
