Keith Hudgins joined the department 2019 as a Lecturer in the Entrepreneurship concentration. Hudgins graduated from Clemson in 1982 with a BS in Financial Management. He began his career in the manufacturing industry with Becton-Dickinson and Company in Sumter, SC. At B-D, he held the positions of cost analyst and manufacturing supervisor. In 1986, he joined Square D Company (now Schneider Electric) in Columbia, SC where he held the positions of cost accountant, senior financial analyst, plant controller, and plant manager. In 2003, he and his business partner purchased Square D’s crane control product line and re-established a 118-year-old brand - EC&M. EC&M operated from its 86,000 square foot manufacturing facility in St. Matthews, SC for twelve years until the company was sold to Hubbell, Inc., in 2015. Hudgins is a member of the advisory board of The Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership, an investor and member of the VentureSouth Angel network, a mentor at the Spiro Accelerator, a member of the Tri County Technical College Board of Visitors and has been an occasional guest speaker at Clemson in several undergraduate and graduate courses. He is currently a lecturer in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business. Hudgins is a member of an investor partnership of several Clemson graduates who have purchased two historic buildings in Pendleton, SC. The partnership's goal is to protect and enhance the historic character of these iconic buildings and to participate in the economic development of the Pendleton area. He and his wife, Jennie, are the parents of two Clemson graduates. Their son, Thomas, earned his BA and MPA at Clemson. Their daughter, Martha, received her BS and MS from Clemson in Plant and Environmental Sciences. Martha is married to Daniel Froelich, a Clemson graduate with a degree in Marketing. All of them live in the Clemson area.
