 Profile

Dedicated, enthusiastic faculty with outstanding academic, communication, organizational, and people skills and a passion for teaching nursing in a way that makes students excited to learn. I practice as a Certified Medical Surgical Nurse in an acute care hospital. My love for the elderly was fueled by my experience in long term care and hospice. In addition, I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner. I am interested in increasing critical thinking among students following the principles taught in the Clemson Thinks2 Program. Another interest of mine developed at an Excellence in Nursing Educators course at UNC Chapel Hill is to engage students in the classroom through the use of simulation and case studies. I have coordinated various fundraisers for faith-based organizations and led a team of 20 students and professionals on a mission trip to Jamaica in June 2017. My previous experience was as a sales consultant prior to Nursing.

 Research Interests

My interests are dementia. I have performed a literature search on the topic of interventions that improve dementia care in Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
