Solidica (Form-ation)
Solidica

Using a reel of 3003 H18 Aluminum foils, the Solidica Form-ation fabricates three dimensional components through ultrasonic welding of layered metal foils, and contour milling. Solidica RpCAM is used to calculate the tape layering process. Each level is trimmed using standard CNC machining to remove excess material. Delcam PowerMILL is used to calculate the material removal process. Solidica RpCAM accepts CAD model of IGS and STL format. When required, at finish heights specified by the user, the machine performs finish machining on the work piece. Finish heights are generally defined by the flute length of the shortest tool so that very small features can be machined from the bottom up.

Cutting Machines
Water Jet (MAXIEM 0707) Laser Cutter (Epilog Helix)
Water Jet

This abrasivejet system cuts complex flat parts out of most materials including metal, plastic, glass, ceramics, stone and composites directly from a CAD or DXF file. Extremely hard, reflective and nonconductive materials can also be cut, making it a valuable addition to existing shop capabilities. Parts are cut directly from plate with a single tool dramatically reducing setup time and material usage.

Laser Cutter

For engravers looking to work with large engraving pieces, the Epilog Helix is an ideal choice. The Helix's generous 24" x 18" x 8.5" (610 x 457 x 215.9 mm) engraving area will allow you to engrave multiple pieces as well as thicker materials, including boxes and vases.
