Graduate Overview

Graduate Programs

Our Masters (M.S.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs are described on their own pages. Students may apply directly to either program; a Masters degree is not a prerequisite for the Ph.D. degree although it may provide useful experience and preparation.

More details about the overall graduate application process can be found on our Frequently Asked Questions page for prospective applicants.

The graduate academic adviser will guide you through the curriculum and general education requirements to help ensure your continued progress toward your degree and graduation. Together, you will devise an educational plan that meets the University and departmental requirements, but that is individualized to fit your interests and aspirations.

In addition to our advising meetings before registration each semester, you are welcome to meet with your advisor at any time to discuss courses, academic issues, careers, etc.
