Piedmont Research and Education Center
The Piedmont Research and Education Center is one of six Clemson Research and Education Centers (RECs) located across the state of South Carolina. Collectively, these RECs are known as the Clemson Experiment Station.
The Piedmont REC consists of all of the research farms located on and around Clemson University's main campus, including: LaMaster Dairy Cattle Center, Morgan Poultry Center, Musser Fruit Research Center, Simpson Beef Cattle Farm, Sheep Farm, Aquaculture Center, and the Organic Research Center. Matt Hersom is the REC director. The mission of the Piedmont REC is to support agriculture research, teaching and public services of Clemson University in an efficient and effective manner while maximizing available resources. Each of the farms within the Piedmont REC holds workshops and field days related to research done on each corresponding farm.
