Welcome to Clemson!
As a new student, you’ll use a variety of technology services and digital tools throughout your academic experience, and CCIT is here to help make that experience easier. Below you'll find everything you need to get set up, from account basics to campus WiFi and email. Once you've got the fundamentals down, take a look at the available tools for academic success for additional resources that can make your coursework a little smoother.
Getting Started
- Username, Password and CUID Number
Every Clemson student has a username, password and CUID number. The link above assists in the process of finding this information.
- Two-Factor Authentication
To use most technology platforms in the Clemson University ecosystem, you must have two-factor authentication set up. This step is vital to login.
- Virtual Private Network (VPN)
To access programs like iROAR for course registration when not connected to Clemson’s campus network, students must download Clemson University’s VPN. Follow the steps in the link above to ensure you have VPN on your device.
- iROAR
Prepare for your first semester by accessing the iROAR student portal, where you can enroll for courses, access records and find the resources you need for a successful term. Access iROAR off-campus by using CUapps or VPN.
- Email
Every Clemson student has a Clemson email account. These accounts are assigned after students commit to Clemson and are hosted in Microsoft Exchange. Set up your email as soon as possible to ensure you do not miss any important information from advisors.
- Technology Recommendations for Incoming Students
Clemson has an on-campus technology store, the Tiger Tech Shop, that offers educational pricing and warranties, in addition to technology recommendations for different majors/colleges. Visit the location on campus or the website linked above to learn more about the options and benefits of using this campus resource.
- Laptop Setup
Once you have purchased your laptop, the next steps are to set it up in the Clemson environment. This includes downloading software and getting connected to the Clemson WiFi network.
- Wireless: eduroam and ResMediaNet
Connecting to Clemson’s WiFi networks is another important part of onboarding. The link above informs students of the process of connecting to eduroam. To connect your other devices like gaming consoles on campus, ResMediaNet is the product for you.
- Canvas
Canvas is the learning management system (LMS) used at Clemson for all courses, content, assignments, due dates, class announcements, etc. Once your Clemson credentials and DUO are set up you should be able to login.
- Parents' or Guardians' Information
Parents or guardians of incoming students may have questions or concerns too. To learn more about what information parents/guardians can access, the link above is a helpful starting point.
Tools for Academic Success
Adobe
All students have access to Adobe Acrobat Express, Adobe Express, Adobe Photoshop Express, Adobe Firefly, Adobe Fonts and Adobe Stock within Express; log in to Adobe.com using your Clemson username and password. If you need access to more advanced software like Photoshop for a class, opt in to an Adobe Creative Cloud license.

Artificial intelligence tools can support learning, discovery and innovation across the University. Clemson provides access to a curated set of enterprise-level AI tools that can help students generate and refine written content, summarize information, support studying and problem-solving, and assist with a variety of productivity tasks.
CU AI ToolsCloud Storage
Students have a variety of file storage options for individual and collaborative use, including file storage hosted at Clemson as well as storage provided by approved cloud vendors like OneDrive, Box and Google Drive.
Cloud Storage InformationCUapps
CUApps lets you securely access the software you need for your coursework from any device, anywhere. By installing the Citrix Workspace app or using Citrix Web Access, you can run Windows-based applications as if you were working directly on a Clemson desktop, without installing them locally.

This comprehensive suite of productivity and collaboration tools is designed to enhance academic and professional work by offering access to powerful software and cloud-based services. Microsoft 365 includes popular software titles like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook and many more.
Access Microsoft 365PaperCut
PaperCut is Clemson’s printing solution. Students can print to any of the printers located in public areas on campus, with a $25.50 print quota provided each semester and charges of $0.05 per black-and-white page or $0.10 per color page. You can even print from your phone.

Qualtrics is a web-based platform that allows Clemson students to create surveys, collect and store data, and produce reports from anywhere. Qualtrics features an easy-to-use interface, survey templates, collaboration and data visualization tools, and more.

Zoom is an online video conferencing system featuring meeting and webinar capabilities, along with real-time messaging and content sharing.
