Current Focus: Fall Armyworms
Fall armyworms are a serious pest of turfgrass, forage crops and row crops across South Carolina. Outbreaks can cause significant damage in a short time, making early detection critical.

Identification: Caterpillars with a distinctive inverted “Y” on the head.

Damage: Rapid defoliation of turf and crops.

Action: Check fields regularly and follow Extension recommendations for treatment.
