Business Course Offerings for AI
From developing AI skills and exploring emerging technologies to applying AI to real-world business challenges, students have opportunities to build the knowledge and experience needed to work confidently and effectively in an AI-driven business environment. The courses highlighted below represent just a sampling of the many courses where AI learning is integrated into coursework throughout the College.
For comprehensive course options for AI-integrated learning, we encourage students to connect with their academic advisor or academic department.
-
Accounting Information Systems
Accounting ACCT 3220 is a 3-credit undergraduate course that examines computer-based accounting systems, including systems design, transaction processing, internal controls, auditing information systems and system security. AI is introduced through examples of automated transaction coding, fraud detection, continuous auditing, cybersecurity monitoring and intelligent internal-control testing. Students would also consider the risks of relying on AI when accounting data are inaccurate, biased or insufficiently protected.
-
Creative Inquiry in Business
BUS 4990 AI Tools and Techniques: Most people top out at using AI as a chatbot. This course explores everything beyond that. Students will learn to direct AI, build with it and decide what is worth building. They can start from zero or bring technical experience as they create a personal AI operating system, deploy projects and respond to a real business constraint.
-
Creative Inquiry in Finance: AI
Finance FIN 4980 brings together students from finance, computer science, economics and statistics to apply artificial intelligence, including natural-language processing and large language models, to real-world problems in finance and real estate. Student teams define research questions, analyze large datasets, build and validate models and present their findings. The course gives students experience using AI as both a research tool and a subject of financial analysis.
-
Current Developments and Trends in Graphic Communications
Graphic Communications GC 4440 is an advanced course that examines technologies that influence graphic communication processes and equipment choices. Topics include color theory, electronic color scanning, digital prepress, communications systems and gravure color-quality control. AI is used to analyze color and production data, identify quality problems, compare workflow alternatives and explore emerging developments in automated prepress and print production.
-
Introduction to Econometrics
Economics ECON 4050 is a 4-credit undergraduate course that introduces students to the quantitative analysis of economic data. Topics include probability, data management using statistical software, multiple regression, hypothesis testing, multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity and serial correlation. AI is used to assist with data cleaning, coding, visualization and explaining regression results, but students must verify that AI-generated code and interpretations are statistically correct.
-
Strategic Marketing Management
Marketing MKT 4500 applies marketing concepts to managerial problems involving product development, pricing, advertising, personal selling, distribution channels and international marketing. AI is used for research triangulation, allowing students to gather and compare evidence from multiple sources before making strategic recommendations. Students also use AI to develop marketing plans for international product launches and to create simulations of packaging, point-of-purchase displays and both traditional and digital advertisements.

A series of workshops is planned for Fall 2026, specifically designed for business college faculty and staff, as well as the broader University community. Times, locations and additional details for each workshop will be posted as they are confirmed.
