CU Paralympic Soccer Program

About Us

The VA Adaptive Soccer Club Development Program began as a means to support the US Paralympics National Team Program. In talking with the National Team coach, there were no clubs around the United States that allowed for specialized training for individuals with Cerebral Palsy, who have experienced a Traumatic Brain Injury (through combat or accident), who have experienced a stroke or who have other neurological impairments that influence their mobility. The Clemson program, with partial grant support from the United States Department of Veteran Affairs was developed to support the growing need for adaptive soccer development programs. In its infancy, we are seeking to start 4 soccer clubs for injured military veterans around the country culminating in a National Club Championship to be hosted by Clemson University each summer. The ideal is that we continue to grow in programs as well as include non-military adaptive sport participants that meet the disability criteria outlined above to truly develop a full club structure.
