   Lab Activities

  1.     Elementary fluid power problems and circuit symbols and identification of
  2.     Linear actuator problems and demonstration of basic hydraulic system -
        pumps, valves, cylinders
  3.     Demonstrate Bobcat Loader, students locate components, basic
        calculations. Wood splitter design problem. Demonstrate relief valve on test
  4.     Filters studied. Hydraulic circuits of machines demonstrated and circuits
  5.     Gear and vane pumps of various types disassembled and components
        studied, basic pump calculations made
  6.     Piston hydraulic pumps disassembled, specific components identified,
  7.     Hydraulic motor application problems, field trips to observe hydraulic motors
  8.     Directional control valves disassembled, specific components identified,
  9.     Flow control and pressure control valves evaluated and demonstrated
  10.     Field trip
  11.     Commercial hose fabrication laboratory
  12.     Hydrostatic transmissions - various types evaluated
  13.     V-belt design problems
