The Southeastern Regional Lipid Conference (SERLC) is one of the largest and most established academic meetings on lipid biology research in the United States. The main themes are sphingolipids, phospholipids, and eicosanoids, their analysis by state of the art lipidomics, and the determination of their biological function in cell signaling and cell biology. Additional topics covered are the structural and functional analysis of unique sphingolipids and phospholipids in plants, fungi, bacteria, and infectious diseases, the theme for this year’s conference.

This is an excellent conference for trainees. Session talks and poster presentations are exclusively given by students and post-docs. Senior post-docs and young faculty are selected to chair the sessions.Travel Awards are available for students and post-docs to cover registration and travel costs.

There will be lots of opportunity for networking at coffee breaks, poster sessions, and meal times. Enjoy great hiking, golf, canoeing, and lounging during free time. The last night culminates in a square dance with live music and the Southern Appalachian Cloggers.
