Healthy Lifestyles and Safety

Our programming empowers youth to be healthy – body and mind – with the skills to make healthy decisions and lead healthy lifestyles. Having the confidence and skills to lead healthy lifestyles not only improves overall well-being; it enables youth to tackle life’s challenges today and become leaders in their lives, careers, and communities as they grow into responsible adults.

This area includes programs to promote safety for individuals and farms. Safety includes ATV safety, Emergency Preparedness, Bicycle Safety, tractor and machine safety, communities for child safety, and safety certification.

Youth practice first aid skills to treat cuts, scrapes, nosebleeds, and bee stings. They learn how to respond to someone who is choking or has a broken bone. In addition, they will assemble their own first aid kit and interview members of the medical profession.
