Resources for Faith-Based Youth Groups During COVID-19

On Thursday, April 9, 2020, Clemson University Assistant Professor Harrison Pinckney, Ph.D. led a live, online discussion about the role of faith-based youth programs during COVID-19. He was joined by Dr. Bob Ditter, a child, adolescent and family therapist from Boston, Massachusetts.

The goal of the session was to help youth workers in faith-based settings identify the challenges teens are facing in light of COVID-19 and provide insight for supporting and reassuring those teens during this trying time. The discussion moved beyond isolation and disruption to daily routines to focus on the life-altering experiences these youth will need to manage.

This is the first of a series of sessions that are open to all paid staff and volunteers who are currently working with youth through their faith-based organization.

The goal of these discussions is to provide attendees with tips and resources they can use to help guide their youth through this difficult moment.
