Dr. E. Jeffery Rhodehamel received his B.S. in Microbiology, a M.S. in Food Science & Technology, and a Ph.D. in Food Science & Technology all from Virginia Tech. Dr. Rhodehamel joined Clemson University in August 2013 as the Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences Department Chair. Before coming to academia, he spent 18 years with Cryovac/Sealed Air Corporation in various R&D positions, and most recently as the Executive Director, Global R&D for Food and Beverage. His group was responsible for evaluating food packaging materials and applications, providing technical support, and food safety assessments of new packaging applications and technologies. Before joining Cryovac, he was with the FDA for seven years in Washington, DC, and spent several years with Sara Lee Corp. as the Supervisor of the Microbiological and Chemical Laboratories for Bil Mar Foods. He is a member of both IFT and IAFP. His professional and research activities have resulted in over a hundred presentations and published articles.
