Individual Development Plans

An Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a planning tool created in partnership by the supervisor and employee that serves as a guide for the employee’s growth and professional development.

The IDP identifies career-related and/or development objectives, competencies needing development or enhancement, and a roadmap of customized learning opportunities to help them achieve their goals.

  1. Where they are now? (Competencies)
  2. Where they want to be? (Goals and objectives)
  3. How do we get there? (Roadmap)
