Onboarding Checklist

First Things First

Complete Within Days 1-5

Complete Within Your First 10 Days

Complete Within Your First 30 Days

Complete Post Benefit Enrollment (generally 7-10 days following your benefits enrollment)

  • Verify the accuracy of your elections:
  • Verify your payroll deductions are accurate by viewing your Benefits Summary on the home page in Employee Self Service

**Employees Transferring from Other State Agencies:

If you were previously enrolled in the PEBA-provided insurance and retirement with your previous State employer and you have not experienced a break in service longer than 15 days, your previously elected insurance and retirement benefits will be transferred through the PEBA system. You will receive two separate emails from PEBA for insurance and/or retirement. Use the enrollment links provided in the emails to review your current elections and confirm the transfer of your benefits.

If eligible, you may transfer your leave benefits by completing the New Employee Benefits Transfer Form. The form must be completed by your previous State employer and sent to
