Managing Leave
As a supervisor, you will receive absence and leave requests from employees. The information on this page provides policies, guidelines and procedures that will assist you in managing employee leave requests.
As a supervisor, you should:
- Be familiar with the different types of paid leave
- Know the eligibility requirements
- Approve or deny leave timely
- Communicate with your HR Service Manager for FMLA or other special circumstances
- What types of paid leave are available?

How to determine if the employee is eligible for paid leave:
Review the Summary of Leave Benefits page to determine if your employee’s position is eligible for specific leave benefits.
Review your employee’s profile in Kronos to determine the available leave balance.

How to approve or deny leave requests:
Time and leave approvals for the most common leaves are managed in Kronos.
