Ellie Lane is a Rural Health and Nutrition Agent with Clemson Cooperative Extension. Ellie serves South Carolina residents by developing, facilitating, and evaluating chronic disease prevention and self-management programs. Ellie's mission is to help her home state of South Carolina have better health outcomes so all residents can live happier, healthier lives.

Rural Health and Nutrition programs address prevention and management of chronic diseases such as diabetes or hypertension through the adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviors. Recommendations for healthy lifestyle behaviors include staying consistent with eating a nutritious diet, being physically active, managing stress, and regularly monitoring health. Rural Health and Nutrition programs provide the education, skill development, and access to resources needed to adopt these healthy lifestyle behaviors.
