Underground Recreation Center

This fun and relaxing recreation center is located on the ground floor of the Edgar A. Brown University Union across from Harcombe Dining Hall. The center is ideal for private socials, birthday parties or tailgating during home football games. With bowling lanes, billiard tables, a large lounge area, access to Starbucks and Chili’s Too, the Underground Recreation Center is the perfect place for your next event!

How to Make a Reservation

What is a reservation "request"?

Completing a reservation request form begins your event review process with our staff. Once we have received all necessary information from you, we will determine if we can accommodate the event based on timing, staffing and technical needs.

Keep in mind

  • Reservation requests are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis up to one year in advance.
  • You are strongly encouraged to place your reservation several months in advance to avoid conflicts with previously requested events.
  • While a minimum of three business days is required to place a request, at least two to three weeks notice is a must for some events.

Reservation Requests

Standard requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance of the actual reservation date. Special event requests must be submitted at least four weeks in advance if set-up and/or additional staffing is needed. Requests are not approved until a written confirmation from the scheduling team has been received. Reserved spaces and times are held for a specific group, whether they are used by the group or not. Discounts will not be awarded post-event for spaces or time not utilized. The cost of items and time utilized by the group that were not originally reserved will be added to the group invoice post-event. Groups with participants under the age of 18 must provide supervisory chaperones. One chaperone must be present in each reservation area during an event.

Payment of Invoices

Groups/organizations will be invoiced for all rates and other charges (including staffing, setup rates, custodial services, security, damage and/or repair costs as applicable as well as any charges resulting from damages to property or equipment), with payment due within two weeks following the invoice date. Late payments will affect eligibility for future reservations. Payments may be made via cash, check or credit card in Lehotsky Hall 284B or by mailing a check to:

Cancellations

There is no charge for cancellation of a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. For an event to be considered canceled, the responsible group must contact and receive confirmation from the events coordinator. Events not canceled within 24 hours of the reserved period will result in the responsible group being charged the full reservation rate—if outside of normal operating hours—and half of the reservation rate if it falls within our normal operating hours. Failing to arrive to their reservation without a confirmed cancellation may affect a group's potential to make future reservations.
