Robert McCormick earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Clemson and a doctorate in economics from Texas A&M University. Currently, he serves as senior fellow at the Property Environment Economy Research Center in Bozeman, Montana, and as associate editor of the Journal of Corporate Finance. McCormick provides consulting in a number of areas of expertise, including corporate financial affairs, business planning and development, and environmental matters. He is also on the executive committee of Clemson’s “The Will to Lead” capital campaign.
As a faculty member in the John E. Walker School of Economics at Clemson, McCormick earned numerous teaching awards, including the Prince Innovative Teacher of the Year, the Alumni Professor of the Year, Alumni Master Teacher, the MBA Professor of the Year and National Scholars Mentor Award.

Gregory Pickett oversees all undergraduate and graduate academic programs, supervises the Office of Marketing and Media Relations, and extends to business affairs, human resources and special projects and oversees all of the institutes and centers housed under the college umbrella. Pickett will continue to serve as director for Clemson’s MBA programs and to oversee operations at Greenville ONE. Prior to his appointment, Pickett served as associate dean in charge of graduate business programs at Greenville ONE from 2011-2014. During this time Pickett was instrumental in repositioning the college’s continuing education and professional development programs around customized solutions for the workplace and succeeded in growing enrollments for MBA programs by nearly 50 percent over the same period. He also developed and directed the expansion of the MBA offerings to include full-time and part-time concentrations in entrepreneurship and innovation, positioning Clemson as a leader in this highly desirable field.
Prior to his associate dean roles, Pickett was a professor and chair of the Department of Marketing from 2001-2011. As chair, he developed a variety of innovative programs including the innovative iLead initiative which led Clemson students to recognize the marketing program three times as “best major on campus.” Pickett helped develop several challenging undergraduate research experiences funded by external sources that linked communities, nonprofit organizations and businesses to faculty and student talent. He also established the college’s first academic sport program.
Pickett’s research has been widely published in numerous marketing/business journals, including the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Services Research, Journal of Services Marketing, Services Industry Journal, Journal of Marketing Education, Journal of Advertising, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Sport Marketing Quarterly and Journal of Public Policy and Marketing.
He has won several recognitions for his research including a “Citation of Excellence” in the European Journal of Marketing, “Best Paper of the Year” in the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management and a “Special Recognition for Distinguished Career Contributions” for scientific understanding of sport business awarded by the American Marketing Association Sports Marketing Special Interest Group. His current research efforts are focused on services and sport marketing issues.
Douglas “Kinly” Sturkie

Kinly Sturkie joined the Clemson faculty in 1982 and is currently serving as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Business. His principal responsibilities include providing College-level support for all undergraduate programs, the College of Business Undergraduate Advising Center and the Office of Student Enrichment. He also handles many of the day-to-day issues that arise within the College and serves as a liaison to many University administrative units. Professor Sturkie initially came to the College of Business through the College of Business and Behavioral Science. Prior to his service as an Associate Dean, Professor Sturkie served for nine years as the Chair of the Department of Sociology & Anthropology and two and a half years as Interim Chair of the Department of Political Science. He is also a former President of the Clemson University Faculty Senate and was the 2003 recipient of the Clemson University Class of 1939 Award for Excellence.
Professor Sturkie earned his Ph.D. at the University of Southern California and was first licensed as a mental health professional in California 38 years ago. He practiced full-time as a child and family therapist for seven years before joining the Clemson faculty. Other activities have included service as the Chair of the Advisory Committee for the National Examination in Marital and Family Therapy, President of the S.C. State Board of Examiners for MFTs & LPCs and as an expert witness in numerous Family Court hearings relating to child maltreatment, termination of parental rights, child custody and post-divorce visitation facilitation. However, for the last 15 years, his focus has been primarily on organizational management.

After completing his graduate studies, Eric Muth served as an aerospace experimental psychologist at the Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory in Pensacola, Florida, from 1997-2000, completing studies of naval significance related to night vision, motion sickness and the use of flight simulators in the shipboard environment. Eric came to Clemson in 2000 where his work focuses on developing solutions that improve human performance and lead to healthier lives. Eric is an expert in using the electrogastrogram, a non-invasive measure of stomach electrical activity, to study nausea and motion sickness and the electrocardiogram to index autonomic nervous system activity. He is the co-developer of the Bite Counter. Eric also serves as the academic adviser to Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.
Eric’s research areas include eating behavior and weight loss interventions; understanding the causes, symptoms, physiology and prevention of motion sickness; and stress in high workload environments — particularly the stress of motion and acceleration — and how it affects physiology and performance.
