Profile
I am a PhD student in Dr. Jatana's horticulture lab at Edisto Research and Education Center- Clemson University. I joined here in spring 2025. My service is primarly focus on various aspects of organic vegetable production system. At present, my job is to conduct organic trials to evaluate different cost effective organic nutrient sources and its regulation using various natural amendments for to meet crop nutrients demand. I mainly focus on leveraging concentrated organic products like rendered materials (meat and bone meal) and treated manure products blended with natural amendments like sulfur and neem oil as a nutrien sources in organic watermelon production
Research Interests
Dr. Jatana's lab mainly focus on plant physiology and plant-soil-microbial interactions in intensively managed vegetable production systems. My research interest is mainly based on farmers oriented problems in organic production systems. I like to work on nutrient and weed management aspects of organic vegetables production. I am also interested and have free hand trials on Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation (ASD) tools to control weeds in organic crop production. My research path also supports sustainable soil health management and nutrient leaching control
Extension and Outreach
I have delivered the outcomes of my organic trials directly to the commercial farmers as well as marginalized farmes during field day via poster talk and indoor presentation. Farmers outreach is always one of my favorite professional activities.
