DeAndra Cooper (Dee) hails from a small rural town located in the heart of Georgetown County, SC. She graduated from Clemson University in 2008 with a BS in Business Management with a minor in Biological Sciences. She then furthered her education, at South University, where she earned a MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration.
She began her higher education career working for Clemson University in the Student Financial Services Department. She then extended her career at Florence-Darlington Tech and Horry-Georgetown Technical College where she was able to work directly with students and their families.
Working in higher education, over a decade, has cultivated her passion for working with students. It is her belief, that true education is obtained both in and out of the classroom. Helping students realize this idea has been one of her professional driving forces. One of her favorite quotes, as exclaimed by Martin Luther King, Jr., is that “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education.” As the new 4-H agent in Williamsburg County, DeAndra is hopeful to learn more about the youth in the area and collaborate with fellow agents to provide exciting and impactful curriculum to the youth.
In addition to being a mother, she enjoys cooking, painting, singing, binging her favorite movies, and laughing with friends and family.
