Educational Background

BS Dairy Science
Virginia Tech 2001

Profile

I grew up on a small family dairy farm in Virginia. I spent my childhood attending 4-H Dairy Club meetings, dairy judging practices, and showing dairy cattle. In high school was an active FFA member. I held several offices, competed in various Career Development Events, and ultimately earned my American FFA Degree.
I attended Virginia Tech and graduated in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science. During college, I was an active member in the Dairy Club of VA Tech and served various leadership roles. I was also a member of the collegiate dairy judging team that competed at the national contest.
I have lived in Chester for the past 19 years. Until December 2023, my husband, my son and I owned and operated our family’s dairy farm along with a small herd of beef cattle. We continue to maintain a small group of dairy show cattle and still operate the beef herd.
I have volunteered on both the local and state level with South Carolina’s dairy youth programs. I have coached various 4-H and FFA dairy judging teams. I have supported the 4-H & FFA Dairy Heifer Project by offering instruction and advice to participants and serving on the project committee.
I enjoy being a mentor to young people. I look forward to being able to connect with Chester County’s families and youth and hope to inspire their growth and development by encouraging their involvement in the many meaningful and amazing programs that 4-H offers.
