Profile
I am a Ph.D. student and Graduate Assistant in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences at Clemson University. I hold an M.Sc. in Biotechnology and a B.S. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Gebze Technical University, Turkey. My interdisciplinary research background includes nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, polymer- and hydrogel-based materials, biosensor development, and functional materials. My current research focuses on the development of graphene-based materials and inks for inkjet printing, carbon-based quantum dot synthesis, and printed sensing platforms for food, agricultural, and healthcare packaging applications. I have hands-on expertise in electrochemical exfoliation, nanoparticle and quantum dot synthesis, inkjet printing, and material characterization techniques, including SEM, XRD, DLS, UV-Vis, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and FTIR. My research aims to develop functional materials and sensing technologies with an emphasis on safety, sustainability, and practical applications.
Research Interests
My research interests include graphene-based materials and ink development for inkjet printing, carbon-based quantum dot synthesis and applications, nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, printed sensors and biosensor development, polymer- and hydrogel-based functional materials, and the development of smart and functional packaging solutions for healthcare and agricultural applications.
