Profile

Shreeya Sharma is a PhD candidate in Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Clemson University, where her research focuses on gut microbiome dynamics, non-antibiotic strategies to reduce foodborne pathogens such as Salmonella and Campylobacter within a One Health framework.

Shreeya's interdiscliplinary work bridges molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics (amplicon gene sequencing, metagenomics), and regulatory-adjacent quality systems. Prior to Clemson, she was a Veterinarian in Nepal and served in R&D at a veterinary vaccine company, with prior GMP/GLP-adjacent experience, and worked with USAID PREDICT project and US Department of State funded projects.

She is the author of 15 peer-reviewed publications (h-index 7), and serves as an active peer reviewer for journals including Scientific Reports, npj Biofilms and Microbiomes, Animal Microbiome, Vaccine, and Research in Veterinary Science.

On campus, Shreeya serves as Director of Research for Clemson's Graduate Student Government which organizes 3 Minute Thesis and iGRADS. Her work has been recognized with the Wade Stackhouse Fellowship (2025, 2026), Pearce Fellowship, Interdisciplinary Research Fellowships (2024, 2025), 2nd Place in Clemson's 3MT 2025, 1st Place in Clemson's Data Visualization 2026, among other honors.
