 Courses Taught

After participating in the President's Leadership Institute (PLI), Legette was inspired to develop the Extension Emerging Leadership Initiative (EELI)in 2018 for Extension professionals interested in developing their leadership knowledge and skills. The program has 42 graduates from CU Extension Service, CU College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences (CAFLS), and SC State University 1890 Research and Extension.

 Profile

Deon Legette began her career with Clemson as a Family and Consumer Sciences agent in Lexington County where she served adult and youth audiences for 15 years. As her career advanced, she transferred to Kershaw County where she served 12 years as Regional Lead Agent, Food Safety/Nutrition agent, and 4-H Youth Development agent. She also served as the Midlands District Director for 5 years before moving into her current position.
