Profile
Jeff Marshall is a Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Education. He also serves Director of the Inquiry in Motion Institute with the mission of facilitating teacher transformation in K-12 mathematics and science classrooms through rigorous and authentic inquiry-based learning experiences. His research over the past several years has focused on improving teacher professional development experiences and on improving teacher effectiveness. Two of his recent books (Succeeding with Inquiry in Math and Science Classrooms and The Highly Effective Teacher: 7 Classroom-Tested Practices That Foster Student Success) provide teachers and leaders with practical yet research-based solutions to many of the challenges confronting today's classroom teacher.
Among his accomplishments, he received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching; he has published 6 books, more than 60 articles, and given over 150 presentations. Further, he serves as an educational consultant for numerous school districts, universities, and grant projects across the nation.
He received his M.S. and Ph.D from Indiana University in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Marshall can be contacted at marsha9@clemson.edu.
