Profile
Stephanie Madison is a visiting lecturer in Literacy, Language, and Culture in the College of Education. She also serves as the Modern Languages Education instructor in the BA and MAT program. While her research trajectory has evolved over the years, her background as a high school Spanish teacher continues to inform her work. This interdisciplinary approach has been recognized on the national stage. In 2020, she was awarded the ACTFL-NFMLTA/Modern Language Journal Emma Marie Birkmaier Award for Doctoral Dissertation Research in World Language Education.
From 2020-2024, Stephanie was the project manager for Clemson University's Teacher Learning Progression, a $3 million grant promoting graduate education and professional development for middle school teachers in underserved communities. During that time, she also co-founded Education Ilimitada, a non-profit organization for educational, humanitarian, and immigrant advocacy work. Her involvement in these projects led to being named a 2023 Roaring10, an honor given to individuals who exemplify Clemson University’s core values of honesty, integrity, and respect.
