Engagement

The College of Education values and celebrates our relationships with its alumni and friends.

In partnership with the Clemson Alumni Association, the College of Education is committed to enhancing the lifelong Clemson experience by serving, involving and informing our alumni, current and future students and friends of the University. We want to strengthen Clemson’s lifelong connection to all our alumni. We are proud of our alumni and the wonderful contributions they make as teachers, administrators, counselors, student affairs and other professionals. We want to recognize professional accomplishments, so please send an email to Michael Staton and let us know what great things you have been doing.

We also value our relationships with our friends - district partners, volunteers, donors - who help us bring about transformation in education and prepare our students to become the next generation of teachers, leaders, coaches and counselors. We are grateful for our combined efforts to make a tangible difference in our schools and communities.

Advancement

Tillman at sunset

The College of Education exists to promote the growth, education and development of all individuals. As our students engage in high-quality research, learning and outreach, they are being shaped into change-agents – individuals who help learners of all ages grow and stretch to reach their fullest potential. Student by student, person by person, we build communities of success – with higher paying jobs, better overall health, less crime, and a deeper appreciation for diversity. We ask you to support – our college, our students, our schools, and our communities – as we work together to transform education and the lives of the learners in our reach.

Darla Moore

Darla Moore

Businesswoman and philanthropist Darla Moore of Lake City, South Carolina, is the principal donor of the College of Education. In honor of her father, a 1949 graduate of Clemson and renowned teacher, coach and principal, Moore and her husband, Richard Rainwater, gave a $10 million endowed gift to Clemson's educational leadership and teacher education efforts. The gift led to the creation of the Eugene T. Moore School of Education, home to renowned classroom and clinical training for pre-service teachers, professional mentoring of early-career teachers, and cutting-edge continuing education for in-service teachers.
